Cabarrus county Zoning Ordinance <br />Chapter 4- Overlay Districts and Zones <br />Part V Airport Overlay (AOD) District <br />Section 4 -23 Purpose <br />This district is established to prevent the creation or establishment of <br />obstructions or land uses that are hazards to air navigation, thereby <br />protecting the lives and property of the users of the Concord Regional <br />Airport, the property and occupants of land in the vicinity, and the public <br />investment in the airport. This district is further intended to provide for the <br />safe landing, take -off, and maneuvering of aircraft in accordance with <br />Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. <br />The AOD Overlay District shall overlap and overlay <br />districts. Said overlay district may be expan cladialaN <br />area from time to time. <br />b. In or to carry out the provisions of these regulations, there are <br />hereby created and established within the Concord Regional Airport <br />certain zones which include all of the land lying within the approach <br />zones, transitional zones, horizontal zones and conical zones, as <br />they apply to the more restrictive height limitation.
