Edenton Street <br />Raleigh, NC 27601 <br />Dear Ms. Heath: <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS At the regular meeting of our board on December 6, we voted unanimously <br />by consent to endorse an application to secure partial funding to purchase <br />Jeff'Goforth additional permanent conservation easements on Porter Farms. The vote <br />Chairman was made by consent via the Staff Report, which documents that staff is <br />following the board's direction on this action. <br />Vicky Porter <br />Vice - Chairman We have been working on this project since 2008, when the Land Trust for <br />Central NC first approached us about submitting an ADFPTF application for <br />Ned Hudson an easement on this farm. We anticipate that the LTCNC will be a contingent <br />Secretary- Treasurer grantee on these easements in the event that the enclosed application is <br />Louis Suther successful. <br />Member <br />Land tenure is a top priority for our board, and we are systematically trying <br />Robert Brown to protect private working lands with easements. In the eastern portion of <br />Member our county, there is a window of opportunity to provide long -term <br />protection to land that is currently zoned "Agriculture Open." We are <br />Tommy Porter attempting to develop clusters of conservation easements in an effort to <br />Associate Member foster greater efficiencies in our local agricultural economy.
