SALISBURY -ROWAN COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY, INC. <br />FAMILY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST <br />JOB DESCRIPTION <br />SUPERVISOR: CSBG Program - Director of Family Services <br />EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt DATE: <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience Requirements <br />Minimum: Associates Degree or Equivalent and/or 7 years experience or Preferred: BS /BA degree and 5 <br />years experience or Masters Degree and 2 years experience in Sociology, Social Welfare, Social Work, <br />Psychology or related field; Earned Family Development Credential or enroll and obtain within two years <br />of employment. <br />All candidates must possess: <br />An understanding of family development, family support, social services and social welfare; an applied <br />and working Knowledge of the economically disadvantaged; good written and oral communication skills; <br />financial and computer literacy ; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to attend <br />periodic out -of -town meeting, workshops and conferences <br />Duties & Responsibilities: <br />• Responsible for determining eligibility of program participants and developing participant - driven <br />individual action plans once eligibility is established.. <br />• Responsible for planning and coordinating daily activities and services for participants of the <br />Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) self- sufficiency program. <br />• Responsible for identifying the needs of participants, supporting them in goal development and <br />achievement and leveraging resources for assisting them in becoming self - sufficient. <br />• Responsible for developing community partnerships for the benefit of the participants. <br />• Responsible for conducting regular outreach to the service community, ensuring maximum saturation <br />and service delivery. <br />• Responsible for coordinating public relation activities connected with program service projects. <br />• Responsible for the identification and coordination of resources such as local housing, emergency <br />assistance, education, health and other social service providers. <br />• Responsible for providing counseling on budgeting, housing, and job skills etc. <br />• Responsible for developing appropriate and progressive strategies for project implementation. <br />• Responsible for conducting a minimum of a one bi- weekly contact for each participant and a 1 home <br />visit per participant per year. <br />• Responsible for having a minimum of four (4) face to face contacts per month overall. <br />• Responsible for maintaining participant records in the established file format, accurate case notes <br />and entering all data into AR4CA system in a timely manner. <br />• Periodically attend conferences /workshops to enhance job performance. <br />Revised 05/21/12 <br />Attachment number 2 <br />G -2 Page 344 <br />
