WHEREAS, the Board combined input from the public at its June 17, 2013 regular <br />meeting, reviewed the recommendations of County staff and deliberated in open session <br />concerning the relative merits of consolidation of the Transportation, Aging and Social Services <br />Departments. <br />Based on the foregoing statements and considerations, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY <br />THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS by majority vote as follows: <br />L The existing Cabarrus County Board of Social Services is abolished, effective <br />July 1, 2013, . with thar-d(s to the existing members of that board for their services; <br />and <br />2. A County (consolidated) Human Services Agency is hereby created, consisting of <br />the employees of the existing Department of Social Services, the Department of <br />Aging and the Department of Transportation, with consolidation of these three <br />departments to be effective July 1, 2013; and <br />1 The governing body for this (consolidated) Human Services Agency will be the <br />Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, to be effective. July 1, 2013; and <br />4.
