Presidential Initiatives <br />NACo presidents select critical issues they will address during their one -year terms. Some past Presidential <br />Initiatives have included counties and their role in health care delivery, the prevention of human trafficking, <br />green government and immigration reform. <br />This year, NACo President Lenny Eliason's key initiative will focus on "Healthy Counties," a county by county <br />public awareness campaign to promote healthy living and lifestyle choices in communities across the country. <br />He will also continue NACo's efforts to raise awareness and understanding of America's counties through the <br />"County Government Works" campaign and promote innovative programs, services and benefits for the <br />nation's military, veterans and their families. <br />To learn more about these initiatives and how you can participate, select the links below. <br />Healthy Counties Initiative <br />Information to enhance public /private partnerships in local health delivery, improve individual and community <br />health, and assist counties to effectively implement federal health reform. <br />Veterans and Military Service Task Force <br />Information about the task force, its focus and members. <br />County Government Works Campaign <br />Information and tools for raising public awareness of county government <br />Page 160 <br />
