SECTION III. TWO (2) EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE VEHICLE REMOUNTS <br />SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS <br />A. These specifications establish standards for the design, construction and performance of a <br />Type III ambulance REMOUNT; these specifications are designed around a Chevrolet <br />G4500 DRW Cutaway Chassis. Trim level shall be "Silverado ". The County will consider <br />"or equal" bids. Bidder(s) must submit all vehicle specifications, (brochures, literature) for <br />"or equal" bids, the completed vehicle and components must comply with Federal <br />Specification KKK- A -1822E unless specifically requested otherwise in the following <br />document. As the criteria for compliance with KKK- A -1822E are well established, <br />this document will not contain redundant references to their content. <br />B. The vehicle(s) and its equipment shall be delivered to the County. Prices shall be quoted on <br />a delivered and accepted vehicle -by- vehicle basis, Vehicles manufactured outside of the <br />United States will not be considered. <br />C. All bid prices shall be quoted on a F.O.B. destination basis, at the delivery point indication <br />on the Bid Form; Bid prices shall be complete and include all warranties and equipment <br />specified. After bid, allowances will not be made for incorrect or incomplete bid proposals. <br />D. All prices, terms and conditions must be specified on the Bid Form. <br />E. Bid prices shall be valid for at least 60 days from the date of the bid opening, or as <br />otherwise specified on the Bid Form. <br />F. The County seeks the highest level of quality assurance and liability protection. To insure <br />that these standards are met, Bidders must submit documentation that they are certified to <br />Ford QVM (Qualified Vehicle Modifier) program guidelines. The QVM guidelines apply <br />even in cases where the chassis bid is not a Ford Motor Company product. In addition to <br />the Ambulance Manufacturer, the Dealer in charge must also be certified to Fords QVM <br />program. Bids not meeting this requirement cannot be accepted. Bidders are required to <br />summit proof of having a minimum of 5,000,000 dollars of product liability insurance with <br />this bid. NO EXCEPTION. <br />G. To insure that this contract is awarded to a vehicle manufacturer who has the resources to <br />meet the performance and warranty criteria specified herein, the Manufacturer of the <br />proposed vehicle may not have liens placed on their property, buildings or equipment. The <br />County may procure credit reports to verify compliance. Bids not meeting this requirement <br />cannot be accepted. <br />H. The Manufacturer shall provide a minimum of 36- month/36,000 mile general warranty on <br />the vehicle conversion, 'which covers defective parts and /or components, improper choice <br />of materials, parts and /or components, improper design or engineering and poor or <br />improper workmanship or quality control techniques. This warranty shall cover the <br />complete vehicle, exclusive of the chassis, and shall include any and all costs for labor and <br />parts or materials required to correct deficiencies. It is not the intent of this requirement <br />that items such as light bulbs, or equipment installed in or on the vehicles which are <br />covered by their own separate and specific warranty statements, be included in this <br />warranty. <br />35 ,Un 1 <br />F -5 Page 132 <br />
