Yes No <br />3.0 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS <br />3.1 Electrical System <br />The emergency medical vehicle's electrical system shall be equipped with, but not limited to the <br />following: three 12 volt batteries, ignition, starting, generating, lighting, visual and audible <br />warning systems; specified electronics equipment and devices to include control consoles located <br />in the cab and patient compartment and other specified accessory wiring. The electrical systems <br />and equipment shall comply with all applicable FMVSS including Federal Motor Carrier Safety <br />Regulations (FMCSR), and shall also conform to all the applicable SAE recommended standards <br />and practices whether or not specifically referenced in this document. Additionally, the <br />electrical system shall meet the requirements of AMD Standard 005. All electrical and <br />electronic components shall be selected to minimize electrical loads and levels of heat generated <br />by those electrical components thereby not exceeding the vehicle's generating system capacity or <br />diminish its ability to provide the required levels of electrical power. Electrical systems utilizing <br />switching of "hot load" circuits for emergency and warning lighting shall not be accepted by this <br />agency. All electrical system components and wiring shall be readily accessible through access <br />panels for checking and maintenance. The cab and patient compartment consoles shall also be <br />constructed in such a way that the switches and gauges are easily serviced. They shall be <br />accessible through service panels. These panels will be secured in the closed position in a <br />positive manner, yet can be easily opened for service. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes No <br />3.2 Electrical Load Warning <br />In compliance with KKK -A -1822 E, manufacturer will not install warning lights beyond those <br />required by this specification. Additional lighting will utilize reserve alternator capacity and <br />could result in overloaded electrical systems, which DLay result in electrical system fa' ure and <br />cause the ambulance to fail in the field. <br />Does your bid comply? The batteries will have a <br />combined minimum cold cranking ampere capacity of 2250 CCA.
