PUD zoning allows <br />substantial flexibility in planning and design of a proposed development that often occurs in <br />the form of relief from compliance with conventional zoning ordinance requirements such as <br />minimum lot size and buffering. Ideally, this flexibility results in a development that is <br />better planned, contains more amenities and, ultimately, is a development that is more <br />desirable to live in than one produced in accordance with typical zoning ordinance and <br />subdivision controls. <br />RATIONALE <br />This district provides for a mix of land uses including single - family residential, multi - family <br />residential, professional offices, industrial uses, recreational facilities, civic uses or <br />commercial centers. These uses are integrated into a coordinated and comprehensively <br />designed development project that offers a high level of amenities and preserves the <br />natural and scenic qualities of open spaces. <br />Processing Procedures: <br />To enable thorough analysis of a Planned Unit Development, more information is needed <br />about the proposal than would be required if development were being pursued under <br />conventional zoning requirements.
