Phase I and 11 Environmental impact study. (If necessary) <br />After these critical examinations are completed the engineering team can provide recommendations to <br />the university on those items that must be dealt with prior to renovation, demolition to existing <br />facilities or erection of new construction. <br />Phase 2: North Carolina Historic Preservation/National Register of Historic Sites <br />July 2012 /June 2013 <br />Staff would work with the Midland Town CounciUHistorical Commission to establish the <br />campus as a historical site within their jurisdiction. Work would then begin on ensuring the necessary <br />requirements are met in conjunction with local and state authorities to determine the eligibility of <br />historical site designation. If the site is found to be of historical value as determined by the appropriate <br />governing bodies then the university would begin the process for recognition; and seek the <br />corresponding tax credits associate with historic renovation projects. <br />Phase 3: Finance and Development — July 2012 - Ongoing <br />After taking ownership of the property the university would launch a ten year five million dollar <br />campaign to provide dollars towards the renovation and construction of the campus. The university has <br />already secured private equity and commercial real estate financing counsel to facilitate this private <br />investment. <br />The university will additional seek capital loans and private partnerships, private investment, as <br />well as assignment of ownership in the property, to provide the necessary capital to begin site <br />development. <br />Additionally, the university plans to make applications to foundations and corporations in <br />support of this project. The university has already received a grant from the Wal -Mart Foundation <br />towards its workforce development programs. A few examples of entities the university would submit <br />application to are as follows: <br />Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation <br />Kate B. Reynolds Foundation <br />Cannon Foundation <br />Duke Endowment <br />Burroughs Wellcome Fund <br />WK Kellogg Foundation <br />Lowes Charitable and Education Foundation <br />In the area of charitable gifts the university has to date raised major dollars by way of in kind <br />donations towards the Old Bethel School project. <br />7 <br />The information contained in this document is privileged, proprietary, and intended solely for the purpose of the Woodson University bid for purchase of <br />the Old Bethel School property.
