SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS IN CABARRUS COUNTY SCHOOLS THIS SERVICE AGREEMENT ( "Agreement ") is made effective July_ 1, 2012, between Cabairus County Schools ( "Schools "), whose mailing address is PO Box 388, Concord, North Carolina 28026 -0388, and Cabar us County, North Carolina, a political subdivision of the State of North Carolina (herein known as the "County ") whose mailing address is PO Box 707, Concord, North Carolina 28026 -0707. PREMISES The parties have a common interest in the placement of School Resource Officers (herein known as "SROs ") in Cabarrus County Schools; and, The parties desire to provide for the continued administration of the School Resource Officers Program throughout the County; In consideration of the Premises and other good and valuable consideration, the parties agree to the following terms and conditions: TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. Administration of the Program. The Program will be administered by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department. 2. Term. The term of this Agreement is five years beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2017. The parties may renew this agreement for an additional five year period beginning July 1, 2017, upon notification in writing by either party to the other by May 1, 2017. Terms of any renewal will be agreed upon and entered into by the 15th day of June 2017. Schools Obligations 1. Records. The County will provide the Schools with the support necessary to assist in maintaining records for the Program. 2. Compensation. The Schools will compensate the County for its services by funding each SRO assigned to a County High School for each of the five (5) years of this Agreement at the Allotment Rate established each year for At -Risk Student Services by the N C Department of Public Instruction (Planning Allotment Formulas 1 of 3 F -8 Attachment number 1 Page 137
