SERVICE AGREEMENT <br />FOR <br />SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS <br />IN <br />CABARRUS COUNTY SCHOOLS <br />THIS SERVICE AGREEMENT ( "Agreement ") is made effective July_ 1, 2012, between <br />Cabairus County Schools ( "Schools "), whose mailing address is PO Box 388, Concord, <br />North Carolina 28026 -0388, and Cabar us County, North Carolina, a political subdivision of <br />the State of North Carolina (herein known as the "County ") whose mailing address is PO <br />Box 707, Concord, North Carolina 28026 -0707. <br />PREMISES <br />The parties have a common interest in the placement of School Resource Officers (herein <br />known as "SROs ") in Cabarrus County Schools; and, <br />The parties desire to provide for the continued administration of the School Resource <br />Officers Program throughout the County; <br />In consideration of the Premises and other good and valuable consideration, the parties agree <br />to the following terms and conditions: <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />1. Administration of the Program. The Program will be administered by the Cabarrus <br />County Sheriff's Department. <br />2. Term. The term of this Agreement is five years beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June <br />30, 2017. The parties may renew this agreement for an additional five year period <br />beginning July 1, 2017, upon notification in writing by either party to the other by May 1, <br />2017. Terms of any renewal will be agreed upon and entered into by the 15th day of June <br />2017. <br />Schools Obligations <br />1. Records. The County will provide the Schools with the support necessary to <br />assist in maintaining records for the Program. <br />2. Compensation. The Schools will compensate the County for its services by <br />funding each SRO assigned to a County High School for each of the five (5) years of <br />this Agreement at the Allotment Rate established each year for At -Risk Student <br />Services by the N C Department of Public Instruction (Planning Allotment Formulas <br />1 of 3 <br />F -8 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />Page 137 <br />
