Dear: Mr® & Mrs. Staton:
As you are probably aware, Cabarrus County is in the planning stage of develop-
ing an $11 million water system. Water service is planned in front of your house.
Whether or not service is actually extended depends upon customers signing and
paying the tap -fee.
In order to encourage people to sign -up for this water service, Cabarrus
County is extending a sixty (60) day sign -up period where the tap -on -fee is reduced
to $110 ($75 tap fee, $25 meter deposit and $10 cut -on -fee) for a 3/4 inch meter
connection. After this time period the tap-on-fee will be $285 ($250 tap -fee,
$25 meter deposit and $10 cut -on -fee). Larger non - residential water users can
also qualify for reduced connection fees during this time period.
Your sixty (60) day sign -up period is referenced above along with your parcel
identification number (PIN number). This PIN number will service as your utility
account number if you decide to apply for water service. If you want to take
advantage of this reduced tap -fee please mail or bring this letter along with
$110 to the Cabarrus County Planning Department. The Planning Department is located
in the basement of the County Courthouse in Concord.
Please understand that if a water tap is made, a minimum water charge (water
bill) will be assessed whe.n._water _serv=ice becomes available._ (Our best estimate
is sometime within 18 months)- * If fog some reason not enough persons sign -up on
your street to make water service feasible, your money will be refunded.
If you have any questions concerning this program, please call the Planning
Department at (704) 786 -9217° Please make all checks payable to Cabarrus County,
Si c rely,
Thomas B.
