PLANNING STAFF REPORT <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />1/18/2011 <br />Text Amendment: TEXT2010 -00005 <br />Text Amendment: Tattoo Studio Text Amendment <br />Description: The purpose of the proposed text amendment is to add tattoo studio <br />to the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance as a permitted use. <br />Applicant Information: Administrative <br />P &Z Decision: Approved with Changes <br />P &Z Date: 12/16/2010 <br />P &Z Comments: The Planning and Zoning Commission considered the attached <br />materials at the December 16, 2010 meeting. The Commission <br />discussed the potential text amendment at great length. The <br />Commission decided to move forward with Tattoo Studio as a <br />permitted, by right use in the General Commercial (GC) and <br />Limited Commercial (LC) zoning districts and that a Tattoo Studio <br />was not an appropriate use for consideration as a Home <br />Occupation (general or rural). <br />The Commission voted unanimously to recommend the text <br />amendment (for LC and GC districts only) to the Board of <br />Commissioners for approval. <br />Purpose / Chapters Affected <br />The purpose of the text amendment is to add Tattoo Studios to the Cabarrus County Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br />Add a line item to Section 3 -8, Table of Permitted Uses for a Tattoo Studio, Commercial. The <br />use is proposed as permitted by right (P) in the General Commercial (GC) and Limited <br />Commercial (LC) districts. <br />AW number 4 <br />G -2 <br />
