♦ Chapter Tivo Rules ofCn)f.ctPtmtin» X. noFi�,itini,c <br />Fam>tly <br />For purposes of this Ordinance, family shall be defined as an individual or two or more <br />persons related by blood, marriage or adoption, living together in a dwelling unit; or a <br />group of not more than five persons who need not be related by blood, marriage, or <br />adoption, living together in a dwelling unit. A "family" may include five or fewer foster <br />children. <br />Farm, bona fide <br />Any tract of land larger than ten (10) acres and otherwise eligible for tax deferral as <br />authorized in North Carolina General Statute 105 -277.1 et. seq. shall be considered as a <br />bona fide farm. Any tract of land on which agricultural activities are clearly a primary <br />activity may also be considered as a bona fide farm upon determination by the Zoning <br />Administrator. Under no circumstances will any parcel smaller than five (5) acres be <br />considered either an agricultural tract or a bona fide farm. <br />Fuel Alcohol <br />Distilled spirits that have been made unfit for beverage use at an alcohol fuel plant. See <br />Code of Federal Regulations, Title 27, Part 19 fora list of authorized materials for <br />rendering the spirits unfit for beverage use. <br />Gas station <br />Any establishment including land and buildings primarily engaged in both selling <br />gasoline or other auto - related products and performing repairs not including body work <br />or painting. <br />Garden <br />The raising of fruits or flowers usually found on residential property as an accessory use. <br />Typically, the garden products are for use by the owner and if sold to the public, done so <br />in a way to supplement another primary income. <br />Hamlet <br />A form of very small scale settlement, typically evolving about a crossroads, that contains <br />residential and only very limited neighborhood commercial type uses if at all. Often a <br />hamlet will have very shallow setbacks with buildings set close to the road giving it a <br />feeling of intimacy.
