Jay White and the Cabarrus County Commissioners <br />FROM: Len Witke, AIA, Cabarrus County Schools <br />DATE: April 29, 2011 <br />RE: Revision to 5/2/11 Agenda Item G.2 <br />This is to clarify the budget for item G.2 on the Business Meeting agenda for Monday, May 2, <br />2011. In lieu of the current request to move $180,500 from the J.N. Fries Middle School <br />reroofing project to a second project to remodel a portion of J.N. Fries Middle School for the <br />Performance Learning Center (PLC), the following budget is being requested; <br />Construction $180,500 <br />A/E Design Fees $ 15,890 <br />Administrative Fees 3,610 <br />Total project cost $200,000 <br />This total project cost is the figure that was included in the letter to Ms. Spradling at NCDPI and <br />which was also provided to you in the backup material for our request. Unfortunately, only the <br />construction amount was shown in the original project request document which was confusing. <br />We apologize for any problems this has created and hope that this communication adequately <br />clarifies the issue. <br />The remaining $220,000 that was part of the $420,000 original roof replacement project for J.N. <br />Fries Middle School will continue to be used for replacement of a portion of the roof at the <br />school. The remainder of the roof replacement will be done in the future using CCS annual <br />maintenance dollars. <br />I plan to attend the Business Meeting and present this request to the Commissioners.
