T 1 <br />February 2011 <br />Cabarrus Occupancy — December Smith Travel Research <br />December Occupancy in Cabarrus County was 41.0 %, an increase of 11.8% from <br />December 2009. The year finished with an overall occupancy of 53.0% which was <br />5.3% ahead of 2009. After a strong December room occupancies finished ahead of <br />2009 in 7 of the last 8 months. <br />December Average Daily Rate (ADR) in Cabarrus County was $112.72, down 6.3% <br />from December 2009. The year finished with an overall ADR of $109.87 which was .1 % <br />down to 2009. The State ADR in December was $74.20, up 1.6% from December last <br />year and YTD the State was down .6 %. Overall ADR is still seeing some compression <br />due to the increased room supply in 2010 vs 2009. Cabarrus County's total room <br />supply for 2010 was 980,559 while the supply in 2009 was 859,151 resulting in a 14.1 % <br />increase. <br />December Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) in Cabarrus County was $46.23, <br />up 4.8% over December 2009. The year finished with an overall RevPAR of $58.18 up <br />5.3 %. The State RevPAR in December was $43.02 up 6.2 %. <br />Room Demand has been the key indicator all year to the strength of Cabarrus County <br />as a destination. There were 34,737 rooms sold in December compared to 28,796 <br />rooms during December of 2009 for an overall increase of 20.6 %. The year finished <br />with total room demand ahead of 2009 by 20.2°/x.
