March 2011 <br />Cabarrus Occupancy — January Smith Travel Research <br />January Occupancy in Cabarrus County was 41.6% down 2.6% from January 2010. <br />The decrease in January only marks the second decrease in overall year over year <br />occupancy in the last 9 months. In comparison the state had an occupancy % increase <br />of 6.2% in January. <br />January Average Daily Rate (ADR) in Cabarrus County was $104.80, down 3.2% from <br />January 2010. The state had an increase in ADR of 6.2% in January. Overall US ADR <br />is up 2.8 %. <br />January Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) in Cabarrus County was $43.57, <br />down 5.7% from January 2010. Overall RevPAR in the state was up 9.3% in January. <br />Room Demand for the month of January was up 5.1 %. There were 35,224 rooms sold <br />in January as opposed to 33,518 rooms sold in January 2010. Demand in Cabarrus <br />County for hotel rooms has been so strong that the 5.1 % increase in January <br />represents the lowest increase in demand since August of 2009. Total Demand for the <br />state was up 7.8 %. <br />Occupancy Tax Collections from January hotel stays was $216,636 compared to <br />collections of $211,759 in January 2010. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />1 -2 Page 367 <br />
