CABARRUS COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION STUDY Step IV: Analysis of Data In the fourth step of our review, we will analyze the data from interviews, data collection, on -site observations and fact finding. The analysis will cover those areas identified in the Scope of Services to include station placement through the use of software. Step V: Comparative Analyses In this step, we will compare our findings and observations of fire department and rescue squad services, staffing, equipment, and apparatus in Cabarrus County with trends, industry standards and `best practices' in the field of fire suppression/protection and rescue squad /EMS. We have benchmarked `Best Practices' in fire department and rescue squad services. Step VI: Alternatives and Recommendations In the sixth step, we will consider alternatives to the current fire department and rescue squad stations, configuration of stations, staffing, apparatus. The range of alternatives to be recommended would, of course, depend largely on the analysis of the Assessment. The alternatives would address the tasks in the Scope of Services, including opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve as appropriate overall service is related to facilities, personnel and equipment.
