CABARRUS COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION STUDY <br />Step IV: Analysis of Data <br />In the fourth step of our review, we will analyze the data from interviews, data collection, <br />on -site observations and fact finding. The analysis will cover those areas identified in the <br />Scope of Services to include station placement through the use of software. <br />Step V: Comparative Analyses <br />In this step, we will compare our findings and observations of fire department and rescue <br />squad services, staffing, equipment, and apparatus in Cabarrus County with trends, industry <br />standards and `best practices' in the field of fire suppression/protection and rescue <br />squad /EMS. We have benchmarked `Best Practices' in fire department and rescue squad <br />services. <br />Step VI: Alternatives and Recommendations <br />In the sixth step, we will consider alternatives to the current fire department and rescue squad <br />stations, configuration of stations, staffing, apparatus. The range of alternatives to be <br />recommended would, of course, depend largely on the analysis of the Assessment. <br />The alternatives would address the tasks in the Scope of Services, including opportunities <br />to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve as appropriate overall service is related to <br />facilities, personnel and equipment. <br />As current fire, rescue and EMS service providers, current fire chief managing paid and <br />volunteers the proposed staff recognize that each community has its own distinct <br />characteristics and environment that must be considered in assessing fire /rescue service <br />delivery and considering alternatives, <br />Step VII: Comprehensive Written Report <br />We will provide an appropriate number of copies of the final detailed report.
