CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF • • <br />* <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 17, 2011 <br />`�iri�JJ1 /J� <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Parks Department - Resolution of Support for a Carolina Thread Trail DOT <br />- Tiger Grant Application <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Carolina Thread Trail (CTT) has identified a section of the adopted <br />Cabarrus County Thread Trail Greenway Plan for a DOT (Dept. of <br />Transportation) Tiger Grant application. The identified section has 17.8 <br />miles in Kannapolis, Concord, and Harrisburg jurisdictions and joins <br />Charlotte /Mecklenburg to complete the 34 mile section of identified trail. <br />This is a federal grant and is being completed by the CTT staff and <br />contract vendors. There is a 20% local match for the jurisdictions <br />receiving funding for the greenway development.
