CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 19, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Library -Approval of Grant Application to the National Endowment for the <br />Arts -Big Read Program - $12,500 <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Library plans to submit a grant application to the National Endowment <br />for the Arts for the Big Read program. If awarded, the $12,500 will be <br />used for the 2010 "One Book One Community" program. The book for <br />2010 program is "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brein. The grant <br />has a 1:1 match, which will be provided by the Cannon Trust, the Friends <br />of the Library and a few other sources.
