I. DUTIES AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE EDC TO THE COUNTY - The EDC <br />will function as the primary marketer and prospect - servicing agency for Cabarrus <br />County's economic development program to assure continued growth and viability in <br />the County that includes Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Midland and Mt. Pleasant. <br />1. CORE SERVICES — The central purpose of the EDC will be to build <br />strong relationships with key decision - makers in targeted <br />industries and to leverage relationships with these decision - makers <br />to cause them to expand existing facilities if here, or to relocate to <br />Cabarrus County if not. Since Cabarrus County benefits from all <br />economic development successes within its borders, it funds the <br />EDC to provide this basic level of economic development service. <br />The EDC will also serve as the primary marketer and prospect - <br />servicing agency for the municipalities within the county, provided <br />Cabarrus County will continue to fund the following core services. <br />These Core Services, Marketing Initiatives and Prospecting <br />Activities shall be provided by a professional staff whose duties <br />are to accomplish the program goals. <br />2. Maintain an updated listing of all industrial, commercial and office <br />buildings and land sites that are available in Cabarrus County to <br />provide prospects with quick and accurate responses to needs. <br />3. Coordinate with land representatives (brokers, landowners, developers, <br />project managers, etc) to provide all necessary information on <br />properties that meet prospect criteria. <br />4. Coordinate with municipal and county staff to provide information <br />useful in positioning sites and buildings as most suitable. <br />5. During prospect visits, make persuasive presentations on the viability <br />of all Cabarrus County properties that meet prospect criteria. <br />6. Involve municipal and county representatives in presentations to <br />prospects as appropriate. <br />7. Follow -up with representatives and prospects. <br />8. Aggressively work with municipal, County, and State existing industry <br />representatives to develop a program to identify existing <br />businesses in Cabarrus County planning to expand and work with <br />companies to support expansion efforts. <br />9. Meet regularly with Charlotte Regional Partnership and NC <br />Department of Commerce representatives responsible for national <br />and international recruitment. <br />10. Prepare materials for prospect requests for municipal and county <br />officials as needed. <br />11. Make presentations to prospects when they visit Cabarrus County. <br />12. Make joint existing industry calls and coordinate with County and <br />State programs with similar objectives as it relates to Cabarrus <br />County businesses. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -2 <br />Page 38 <br />0 <br />
