13. Provide quarterly written program updates to Cabarrus County and <br />municipal staffs and elected officials. <br />14. Participate in events sponsored by the Charlotte Regional Partnership, <br />North Carolina Department of Commerce and other regional <br />economic groups. Expand international trade by participating in <br />foreign trade missions or business development trips and <br />educational /informational conferences related to international <br />trade. <br />15. Participation with and support of organizations that are tied to <br />Cabarrus County or our targeted industries and have an economic <br />development presence in the County. <br />16. Make a presentation to North Carolina Department of Commerce staff <br />at least annually updating and highlighting events and development <br />opportunities in the Cabarrus County. <br />17. Develop and maintain relationships with individual NC Department of <br />Commerce economic development representatives to hear their <br />perspectives and recommendations; discuss projects they are <br />working and how the County may fit their prospects' needs. <br />18. Develop and maintain relationships with other economic development <br />allies such as businesses that are financially contributing to the <br />EDC, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Concord Downtown <br />Development Corporation, the Cabarrus Regional Chamber and <br />others who benefit from economic development activities. <br />19. Respond to referrals from participating local governments. <br />A. MARKETING AND RECRUITMENT SERVICES — The EDC will develop and <br />implement an aggressive marketing plan that provides for program analysis <br />and measurement while also making business recruitment trips and other <br />contacts to increase penetration into desired target industries by performing <br />the following. <br />1. Develop and implement a multi -year marketing plan including targeted <br />advertising and supported by the production of high - quality <br />demographic, economic, and promotional material to be used for <br />social media, prospect visits, business recruitment trips, trade <br />missions and follow -up contacts. Plan should include milestones <br />to gauge program success and for fine- tuning the program. <br />2. Use targeted industry list (automotive equipment; defense industry, <br />motorsports; information technology manufacturing, service and <br />wholesale trade; finance; insurance; and headquarters and office <br />space and research and development activities for regional <br />[Southeast US], national and North America type operations <br />including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology) to guide activities <br />and expenditures. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -2 Page 39 <br />
