CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Parks Department - Approval of Acquisition of Real Property at No Cost <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />A 14.1 acre tract of land, adjacent to the 47.9 acre tract the BOC <br />approved for purchase at the June 21, 2010 meeting, is available for <br />purchase. The Carolina Thread Trail / Clean Water Management Trust <br />Fund Grant has been increased to $194,288 to cover the cost of the <br />additional acreage. <br />Lands Conservancy will pay the landowner the total grant amount and <br />Cabarrus County will pay $10,000 closing, legal, survey, and associated <br />fees (no budget amendment necessary for purchase). <br />The Parks Commission reviewed the proposal at their August 18, 2010 <br />meeting and unanimously voted to recommend the additional purchase to <br />the Board of Commissioners. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the acquisition of real property identified in attachments <br />and authorize the County Manager and County Attorney to execute all <br />related documents. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Londa Strong, Parks Department Director <br />Page 237 <br />F -13 <br />
