Springfield Free Public Library /Township of Springfield <br />The library considers that all ILS vendors provide full MARC 21 <br />support, authority control and import/export functionality. These tables must be <br />applied to both imported and manually created records. <br />The cataloger must have the ability to indicate that a bibliographic <br />and /or item record not be available for retrieval in the PAC. <br />The ILS must support automatic population of item template with <br />information from the MARC record (ex. price, call #, etc). <br />The ILS must allow cut, copy and paste commands for MARC <br />record editing. <br />The ILS must support varieties of import template capabilities, <br />including item level information mappings. <br />The ILS must combine and overlay records from bibliographic <br />utilities, using library- defined match points. <br />The ILS must allow the scanning of publisher provided bar codes <br />on books and non print items. <br />The ILS must supply templates containing required and <br />recommended bibliographic fields. These templates must be <br />modifiable by library staff. <br />The ILS must support the ability to link from an open item directly to <br />all other items linked to the same bibliographic record. <br />The ILS must allow staff to make selected changes to item records <br />without requiring access to the full item record. <br />The ILS must support the ability to bulk change bibliographic and <br />item records. <br />The ILS must support both the 10 -digit and 13 -digit ISBN standard <br />for searching for bibliographic records and in the duplicate detection <br />process. <br />The ILS must permit the scanning of publisher provided ISBN <br />barcodes on a book or non -print item. <br />14. The ILS must provide macros for repetitive data entry tasks. <br />15. The ILS must accept, store, retrieve, print, and display diacritical <br />marks. <br />16. The ILS must support the ability for library staff to export all or part <br />of the bibliographic database in full MARC21 format without vendor <br />intervention. <br />17. The ILS must support retention of deleted records (authority, <br />bibliographic, item) at the library's discretion. <br />18. The ILS must support search and limitation features on any data <br />element within any cataloging record. <br />19. The ILS must show statistical usage details on the bibliographic <br />and item records. <br />20.
