New Personnel /Adjusted Position Instructions <br />New Personnel Request Form <br />There is only one form to be completed, and it is located after the 'Instructions" tab. The first step in requesting new <br />personnel is to give each request a priority number. No two requests can be the same priority number. Requests <br />submitted with repeated priority numbers will NOT be accepted. <br />Next, fill out department name and number and program name. Clearly describe in detail the personnel request and how <br />it will benefit the County. Provide a clear indication of the criticality of the need and the magnitude of impact on the <br />community and /or your office. Explain how this position will increase services to citizens and / or benefit Cabarrus County. <br />What will the job duties of this position be? How will this person impact your office? Do you already have this position <br />and need another one or is this a completely new position with a different title that does not exist in your office currently? <br />The better the justification, the more likely that the improvement will be granted. The Board needs to know how both <br />citizens and the County will benefit from spending of the position(s), or in other words, what will be the return on <br />investment. Any statistical data you have regarding the need for new personnel will strengthen your case and should be <br />provided. <br />For each request identify if the position is mandated by statute, providing the statutory authority and local government <br />codes. Your request also needs to identify and include an explanation of how this improvement is related to the county- <br />wide strategic goals ( "CabarrusCountyGoals" tab), how your accomplishment will be measured, and when measures will <br />be reported. <br />If this personnel request will generate revenue, please list the projected amount you expect to receive. <br />The final portion of the form is for outlining the costs of the personnel request. Please list the position related information <br />to the Additional Personnel section. Please note, the salary section is locked and cannot be filled out. This information <br />will be provided to the budget office from HR. <br />If additions to Training. Maintenance and Operations. or Equipment are needed please list them in their respective <br />sections. <br />You may duplicate the form as many times as needed to include all your personnel requests in one file. For your <br />convenience three (3) blank new personnel forms have been provided. <br />To duplicate the new personnel form, complete the following steps: <br />1. Right click the "PersonnelRequest" tab <br />2. Select Move or Copy, under Before Sheet: <br />3. Scroll down and highlight move to end <br />4. Check the Create a Copy box at the bottom to duplicate the new personnel form <br />5. Click ok. The new file should be titled PersonnelRequest (4) <br />6. Repeat the above process for additional forms <br />Please remember that if you are requesting as a part of the personnel request a vehicle, you must submit a Vehicle <br />Replacement Detail form for review according to County policy. This form will be provided as part of your budget manual <br />in December. <br />Rec /ass / Change Form <br />There is only one form to be completed, and it is located after the 'PersonnelRequest' tabs. Complete this form for all <br />reclassifications, deletions, changes to hours, lateral transfers, or status of an existing position. Be specific in describing <br />the changes in work performed that supports your request and a detailed explanation for the change. <br />You may duplicate the form as many times as needed to include all your personnel requests in one file. For your <br />convenience two (2) blank reclassification /change forms have been provided. <br />To duplicate the position reclassification form, complete the following steps: <br />1. Right click the "ReclassChangeRequest" tab <br />2. Select Move or Copy, under Before Sheet: <br />3. Scroll down and highlight move to end <br />4. Check the Create a Copy box at the bottom to duplicate the reclassification /change form <br />5. Click ok. The new file should be titled ReclassChangeRequest (3) <br />6.
