It should be noted, however, that the <br />amount of waste recovered and recycled is greater <br />since business and institutional recycling in <br />Cabarrus County is not monitored or controlled by <br />local jurisdictions. A summary of solid waste <br />generation and recycling is shown in Table 34. The <br />locations of Cabarrus County disposal and <br />recycling facilities are shown in Figure 3 -1. <br />amount of waste generated in Cabarrus County, <br />based on these estimates. <br />3.3 Solid Waste Composition <br />No recent studies have been completed to <br />accurately characterize the composition of the <br />County's solid waste stream. In lieu of County - <br />specific data, estimates provided by other sources <br />can be used to approximate the types of waste <br />materials generated in Cabarrus County.
