CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 18, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Tourism Authority Board is submitting nominations to fill seats #10 & <br />#11 on the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Board of Directors. <br />Seat #10 — (Tourism Activist) - Ray Soporowski — General Manager, <br />Concord Mills Mall for the term ending June 30, 2011. The Board is also <br />requesting a residency exception for Ray Soporowski. He currently <br />resides in Charlotte. <br />Seat #11 — (At Large) - Beverly Jordan — Director of Community Outreach, <br />UNC Nutrition Research Institute at the North Carolina Research Campus <br />for the term ending June 30, 2012. The Board is also requesting a <br />residency exception for Beverly Jordan. She currently resides in Charlotte. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Consider a motion to appoint Ray Soporowski to fill seat No. 10 (Tourism <br />Activist) as recommended by the Tourism Authority for a term ending <br />June 30, 2011, including an exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />Consider a motion to appoint Beverly Jordon to fill seat No. 11 (At- large) <br />as recommended by the Tourism Authority for a term ending June 30, <br />2012, including an exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />H -1 <br />Page 523 <br />
