<br />2008 COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES & ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />• Committee members volunteered 600 combined hours to promote quality of life for the long- <br />term care residents of Cabarrus County. <br />• The Nursing Home CAC completed only 18% of required visits this calendar year, as the <br />committee had only one member until a new appointee was trained in November. <br />• The Adult Care Home CAC completed only 42% of required Quarterly Visits during the <br />reporting year because of too few members. <br />• Two new ACHCAC appointees completed their orientation and training in January 2008 and <br />served actively this past year. One new NHCAC appointee completed orientation and <br />training in October and is now serving actively. <br />• Members attended the required quarterly training meetings with Centralina Ombudsman <br />Program staff. Both CACs maintain excellent attendance records at these training meetings. <br />• The CACs worked with the area facilities to host the 2008 Residents Rights Celebration. <br />Over 150 residents, staff, volunteers, students, and elected officials attended this successful <br />event. <br />.•. <br />Committee member Andrea King presented to Cabarrus County 101 to increase awareness <br />of the need for more volunteer members and distribute information, which resulted in a new <br />appointment. <br />• Members: <br />o attended the required quarterly training meetings with Centralina Ombudsman <br />Program staff.
