t <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 15, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />J <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Finance -Kannapolis City School Public School Building and Lottery Fund <br />Applications <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Two applications will be submitted to the North Carolina Department of <br />Public Instruction on behalf of Kannapolis City Schools for the addition of <br />a classroom wing to A.L. Brown High School and renovation of an existing <br />Vocational building. A $500,619.27 application will be submitted for the <br />use of ADM (Corporate Tax) funds and a $225,829.62 application will be <br />submitted for the use of Lottery funds. This represents the total <br />unallocated funds in the Kannapolis City Schools ADM and Lottery. The <br />ADM and Lottery funds will be used to reduce the amount of Certificates <br />of Participation that will be sold in June 2009 for the construction of the <br />A.L. Brown High School wing addition and renovation of the vocational <br />building. The applications were approved by the the Kannapolis City <br />Schools Board of Education and signed by the Kannapolis City Schools <br />Chair on May 26, 2009. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the Kannapolis City Schools ADM and Lottery <br />Applications and authorize the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' <br />Chair to execute the applications. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Pamela S.
