1 <br /> <br />If Contractor wishes for Substitute submittals to be approved, this work shall be done, if so <br />ordered by the County. The Engineer shall receive additional compensation for this work. A <br />' provision requiring the Contractor to reimburse the County for all costs associated with the <br />Engineer's review of substitute submittals proposed by the Contractor is included in the <br />Contract between the County and the Contractor. <br />Shop Drawings, O&M Manuals, and other submittals will be reviewed no more than twice with <br />further reviews requiring additional compensation to the Engineer at the Contractor's expense, <br />based on the Engineer's then prevailing rates. The Contractor shall reimburse the County for all <br />such fees invoiced to the County by the Engineer. <br />Task 1.5 -Prepare Change Orders and Design Clarifications <br />' A necessary part of any construction project is the preparation of design clarifications and other <br />routine supplementary information. This work will be performed by the Design Engineer and <br />reviewed with the Resident Project Representative. CDM will issue necessary interpretations <br />' and clarifications of the Contract Documents; have authority, as the County's representative, to <br />require special inspection or testing of the work; act as initial interpreter of the Contract <br />Documents and determine the acceptability of the work provided. <br />' Task 1.6 -Review Pay Requests <br />CDM will review the amounts requested for payment by the Contractor and recommend in <br />writing payments to County in such amounts. Pay requests will be processed based on CDM's <br />on-site observations, information provided by the Resident Project Representative, and review <br />of the applications for payment and the accompanying data and schedules. <br />Task 1.7 -Final Inspections <br />CDM will conduct awalk-through inspection with the Contractor to determine if the Project has <br />reached Substantial and/or Final Completion and prepare a punch list of work items remaining. <br />CDM will conduct one final inspection to determine if the work is acceptable, so that CDM may <br />recommend, in writing, final payment to Contractor and may give written notice to Cabarrus <br />County and the Contractor that the work is acceptable. CDM will observe the work of the <br />t Contractor to see that it has been completed in substantial accordance with the bid plans and <br />specifications. <br />Task 1.8 -Record Drawings <br />' Record Drawings shall be provided to Cabarrus County by the Contractor as three (3) sets of <br />prints as well as one set on CD in AutoCAD 2008 format. A set of Record Drawings (prepared <br />by Contractor and reviewed by CDM) shall also be provided to the NCDENR Solid Waste <br />' Section. <br />Task 2.0 -Resident Project Representation <br />' Task 2.1 -Resident Project Representative <br />CDM will provide apart-time Resident Project Representative (RPR), under the direction of the <br />Project Engineer and/or Construction Manager during the construction period, in order to assist <br />in observing performance of the Work of the Contractor. RPR services will be provided for the <br />duration of the Construction Contract between the County and Contractor on an as-needed, <br />billing rate basis.
