<br />In the 1938 aerial photograph, parcel number 554463638 was mostly used fior farmland but also had <br />patches of woodland. It also appears that residential structures were present in the northeast portion of <br />the parcel as well as on the southern side of the railroad tracks. The majority of the parcel is overgrown <br />with residential structures only on the southern side of the raiiroad track in the 1950 aerial photograph. <br />Additional residential structures are present in the southeast portion of the parcel in the 1956 aeriai <br />photograph. !n the 1964 aerial photograph, the northeast portion appears to be farmland again with a <br />patch of trees near the northern border. A portion of the parcel located south of the railroad tracks <br />1 appears to be used as farmland. The farmed areas appear to be overgrown in the 1975 aerial <br />photograph. The northeast portion appears to be used as farmland again in fhe 1987 aerial photograph. <br />A portion of the southwest corner appears to be cleared as well. In addition, no residential structures are <br />apparent south of the railroad tracks. In the 1993 and 2005 aerial photographs, the farmed areas and <br />cleared area in the southwest portion appear #o be overgrown. However, a new path leading to a cleared <br />area appears just north of the raiiroad tracks. <br />., Parcel number 5544724095 mostly contained farmland with woodlands in the western portion of the <br />parcel in the 1938 aerial photograph. The quarry first appears in the 1950 aerial photograph in the <br />southeast portion of the parcel. A pond is located southwest of the quarry area. In addition, several <br />gravel roads lead to the quarry area. The former pond is no longer present in the 1964 aerial <br />photograph, Instead, the quarry area has been failed with water. A sediment pond first appears <br />northwest of the quarry pond in the 1987 aerial photograph. Structures ftrst appear in the southern <br />~~ portion of the parcel in the 1993 aerial photograph. A copy of the 2005 aerial photograph is included in <br />Appendix A as Drawing 3. <br />Historic Topographic Maps: A comparison was made of the 1971 and 1993 Midland, NC USGS 7.5 <br />Minute Quadrangles and the Cabarrus County GIS website contour map for the subject site. The <br />sediment pond is shown on the southeast side of the quarry pond on the 1971 topographic map and on <br />the northwest side on the 1993 topographic map. No indications of environmental issues on the subject <br />site were indicated on these maps. <br />-~ Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps: Sanborn Maps were not available for the subject site. <br />City Directories: City dfrec#ories were no# available for the area of the subject site. <br />5.5 HkSTORfCAI USE INFORMATIONONAOJOINfNG PROPERTIES <br />Aerial Photographs: In the 1938, 1950, 1956, and 1964 aerial photographs, the adjacent properties are <br />predominantly composed of woodlands and farm fields with some residential properties Iecated north <br />and east of the subject site. Residential properties west of the subject site first appear in the 1975 aeriai <br />photograph. Commercial properties are present to the east in the 1993 aerial photograph and to the <br />south in the 2005 aerial photograph. A copy of the 2005 aerial photograph is included in Appendix A as <br />Drawing 3. <br />Historic Topographic Maps: A comparison was made of the 1971 and 1993 Midland, NC USGS 7.5 <br />Minute Quadrangles and the Cabarrus County GIS website contour map for the properties adjoining the <br />subject site.
