County JobLink served 42,706 customers, placed 1, 429 people into jobs, and provided <br />employer services to 796 clients. <br />The Centralina Workforce Development Board includes four Cabarrus County members: Bob <br />VanGorden - BVG Consulting who is the current Centralina WDB chairman; Phil Geissinger - <br />Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast; Pat Woods - Kannapolis City Schools; and Tom Goedeke - <br />US Airways/International Association of Machinists. These Board members do an excellent job <br />of representing the interests of both Cabarrus County and the region. <br />• The Centralina WDB and its staff members support local community initiatives. <br />o We are active members of the Cabarrus County JobLink Management Team, <br />Motorsports Employment Taskforce, Cabarrus Literacy Council, Cabarrus Reentry <br />Initiative, Cabarrus Community Kitchen, Cooperative Christian Ministries, Rowan- <br />Cabarrus Community College R3 Center planning team, LifeBuilder Ministries, and <br />Cabarrus Opportunity House. <br />o The Centralina WDB members and staff served on the Steering Committee involved in <br />the development of the Cabarrus and Rowan County Education and Workforce <br />Development Action Plan. The Centralina WDB also provided funding for the <br />development of the plan. <br />o The Centralina WDB and staff worked directly with all key players as part of the <br />Cabarrus County JobLink system to assist the Cabarrus County JobLink Career Center in <br />achieving a Level III designation from the NC Department of Commerce. Level III is the <br />highest level of recognition by the State for JobLink Career Centers that demonstrate <br />superior customer service. Additionally, staff worked with local partners to establish a <br />SHARE network access point at Prosperity Unlimited offices in Concord to better <br />connect faith-based and community organizations to the JobLink system. <br />o We have made presentations to the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce, the <br />Cabarrus Economic Development Commission, the Cabarrus Literacy Council, the <br />Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Board of Trustees, and the Business Resource <br />Roundtable for Cabarrus and Rowan counties. <br />o The Centralina Workforce Development Board and staff work directly with all key <br />players in the development of the NC Research Campus, especially in regards to its <br />impact on Cabarrus County. <br />o Additional information on the Centralina Workforce Development Board and its efforts <br />to provide quality workforce services in Cabarrus County can be found on our website <br />at www.centralinaworks.com. <br />Page 4 of 7 <br />Attachment number 3 <br />F-3 <br />rage _i sa or oz i <br />
