CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 5/19/08 Agenda Item # <br />SUBJECT: <br />Commerce Dept. -Selection of Administrative Services Provider for 2008-2009 HOME <br />Program Grant <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County has participated in the Cabarrus/Iredell/Rowan HOME Consortium for <br />over a decade. The program provides funds for rehabilitation of substandard housing. <br />Cabarrus County has always subcontracted the administration of the program to <br />companies who specialize in the field. Staff is recommending the selection of the <br />Centralina Council of Governments to administer the grant. The selection is contingent <br />upon executing a HOME contract with the City of Concord for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1. Motion to approve the selection of the Centralina Council of Governments to administer <br />the 2008-2009 HOME program, contingent upon the execution of the HOME contract with <br />the City of Concord. <br />2.
