CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 7/21/08 Agenda Item # F-g <br />SUBJECT: <br />Finance -Engagement Letter for Underwriting Services with Southwest Securities, Inc. <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Board of Commissioners approved a second resolution for athree-year term engaging <br />UBS for underwriting services on December 17, 2007. UBS is now closing its Securities <br />Division (see attached letter from D. Cohen). The Finance Dept. has been very pleased <br />with Joe Niggel's services and requests to continue the relationship into the future through <br />Southwest Securities (equivalent rates). Attached is an engagement letter for your review <br />which will contract Southwest Securities for the balance of the three-year period (July 1, <br />2008 -December 31, 2010) with two one-year renewal options. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Motion to approve the Engagement Letter for underwriting services for the period <br />commencing July 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010 and authorize the County Manager <br />to execute the engagement letter, subject to attorney review. <br />Attachments Q Yes ^ No Expected Length of Presentation <br />Submitted By: Pamela S.
