<br />CABARRUS COUNTY. EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN <br />ANNEX H <br />CABARRUS RESCUE SQUAD <br />I. PURPOSE <br />This annex provides information on the duties of the Cabanvs Rescue Squad <br />during emergency situations. <br />II. SITUATION AND ASSUMPTIONS <br />A. Situation <br />1. Emergency situations can endan er the health and safet of citizens and <br />g Y <br />emergency responders. <br />2. A well- Tanned medical services su ort netwoxk is essential durin emer enc <br />P Pp g g Y <br />situations. The Cabarrus Rescue Squad supports EMS operations during emergency <br />SituatiOnS. <br />1 B. Assumptions. The Cabarrus Rescue Squad has sufficient personnel and equipment <br />/ to conduct successful rescue operations during most emergency situations. Tlie EMS <br />Director will request additional rescue assistance by activating existing mutual aid <br />agreements. The Emergency Management Coordinator will request-additional support <br />from state and federal agencies. <br />III. CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS <br />A. The mission of the Cabas-rus Rescue Squad is extract individuals facing external, <br />norunedical, and nonpatient related peril to areas of relative safety. The Rescue Squad <br />will be responsible for the following tasks: <br />1. Provide rescue and medical support to the community during emergency <br />situations. Be prepared to conductor assist in rescue operations of injured/entrapped <br />victims during emergency operations. Be prepared to conduct victim recovery. <br />2. As needed, support the county Emergency Medical Services during emergency <br />response operations. <br />3. Support the evacuation of extended care facilities and handicapped ox <br />disabled {special needs) individuals as the situation permits. <br />EOP/ANNEX H I September 2008 <br />F-2 204 of 408 <br />
