If a tornado is reported in your a <br />warning will be issued. <br />Urban Area Security Initiative- This program is a feature of the Department of <br />Homeland Security Urban Area Homeland Security Strategy that focuses on large url <br />areas within the United States. These cities were chosen by applying a formula based <br />upon a combination of factors including population density, critical infrastructure an~ <br />threat/vulnerability assessment. Tlae funding from this initiative will help enhance the <br />local governments' ability to prepare for and respond to threats or incidents of terrori; <br />This program provides funding for first responder needs such as equipment, training, <br />planning and exercises. Cabarrus County is within the Charlotte UASI area. <br />Unified Command - A team which allows all agencies (with geographical or functional <br />responsibili#y for the incident) to co-manage an incident through a common set of <br />objectives and strategies. Agencies' accountability, responsibilities, and authorities <br />remain intact. <br />Vulnerability -The susceptibility to life, property, and the environment to damage if a <br />hazard manifests its potential. <br />Vulnerability Analysis -Identifies what is susceptible to damage. This analysis should <br />provide information on: extent of the vulnerable zone; population, in terms of size and types <br />that could be expected to be within the vulnerable zone; private and public property that may <br />be damaged including essential support systems and transportation corridors; and <br />environment that may be affected and impact on sensitive natural areas and endangered <br />species.
