CABARRUS COUNTY <br />`~ BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2008 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Commerce Department -Consent Agreement for The Grand Apartment <br />Project <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The applicant is McClain Barr & Associates, 6353 Poplar Forest Drive, <br />Summerfield, NC 27358. The project consists of 240 multi-family <br />apartment units on +/- 18.37 acres located in the City of Kannapolis off <br />Trinity Church Road and Orphanage Road. The project received rezoning <br />and site plan approval from the City of Kannapolis Planning and Zoning <br />Board on February 7, 2007. A Consent Agreement is required for the <br />project to proceed. Based on the date of approval, the fee is generated <br />from the pre-August 2008 ordinance. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the Consent Agreement between Cabarrus County <br />and McClain Barr & Associates for the Grand Apartment complex, <br />including the payment of $1,331 per unit to advance school adequacy with <br />payment due at site plan approval.
