<br />{ .~ E. Agreements and Understandings <br />1. Agreements and understandings will be entered into only by duly authorized <br />county officials and will be formalized in writing whenever possible prior to emergency <br />situations. <br />2. The Emergency Management Coordinator will request assistance from other <br />jurisdictions should local government resources prove to be inadequate dwing emergency <br />operations. These requests will be made to other jurisdictions, higher levels of <br />government, and other agencies in accordance with existing or temporazy mutual-aid <br />agreements and understandings. <br />3. Local municipalities will request State and Federal resources only through the <br />County Emergency Management Coordinator. The county EOC staff will forward these <br />requests to the NC Division of Emergency Management. <br />4. Organizations tasked-with responsibilities in the implementation of this plan <br />will provide their own administrative and logistical support. Also, these organizations <br />will prepare and maintain a resource list needed to carry out their emergency missions. <br />Additional assistance will be provided by the Emergency Management Coordinator as <br />required during operations. <br />VIII. PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE <br />A. The County Manager will direct the Emergency Management Coordinator to <br />conduct continued development, revision, and annual review of the county emergency <br />operations plan. All department chiefs will conduct reviews and revise those portions of <br />the plan that their departments will implement during an emergency. These revisions will <br />be forwarded to the County Emergency Planner for incorporation into the existing <br />Emergency Operations Plan. <br />B. The County will exercise the Emergency Operations Plan in accordance with the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency national four- year exercise plan.
