in the area to the south of the existing C&D. The samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis of the Appendix I constituents (metals and volatile organic compounds). Four Shelby tube samples and two bulk samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis of grain size, USCS Classification, saturated hydraulic conductivity, and porosity. ^ In-situ hydraulic conductivity {permeability) testing will be performed on five piezometers and/or monitoring wells using slug-testing methods. Slug tests will be per#ormed on four newly installed piezometers and relocated wells CD-4 and CD-5. Additional items may be required, depending on future discussions with the SWS in Task 3.1. It is recognized that the cost for drilling services will depend upon the final boring plan approved/ required by the SWS and the actual amount of work that is completed in the field. The cost estimate for this task is based on the assumption that a total of six HSA borings and six new piezometers will be necessary for the site hydrogeologic report, the new facility plan, and the design hydrogeologic report for the next C&D phase. If additional borings and piezometers are required, CDM will be entitled to additional compensation. The budget far this task is based on the boring plan discussed in Task 3.1. For this Amendment, we have made the following assumptions: ^ Access, including bulldozed roads (if required} to boring locations, will be provided by the drilling subcontractor. ^ The field work can be completed in six, 10-hour days. ^ A CDNi eolo ist/en ineer will be onsite for all the drilling. g g g ^ Proper abandonment of all planned and existing piezometers and monitoring wells is not included in this Amendment. The piezometers and monitoring wells will have to be abandoned prior to construction of the expansion and one~permanent monitoring well will have to be relocated. ^ The installation or relocation of any gas or ground water monitoring wells (with the exception of CD-4 and CD-5) is not included. Piezometers will be installed using two-inch PVC casing with a mutimum of five feet of machine slotted 0.010-inch screen set in a sand pack in/below the groundwater table. A bentonite seal will be placed above the slotted section in each of the wells. Two nested pair of piezometers will be installed to obtain vertical gxadient information. Groundwater measurements will be collected by CDM personnel 24 hours and one week after well completion. Task 3.3 - Hydrogeologic Laboratory Testing Bulk and undisturbed samples will be collected for laboratory testing as required by Rule .0538(a)(4}{E} and {b){1).
