Last night the Board asked for comments from department directors
regarding how such a policy would impact the operations of their departments. Please read item
number 4 carefully - it states that all programs, publications, documents, etc., will be in English only.
The way I read it, no language other than English will be spoken or written while conducting the
county's business.
Please be brief and concise in your assessments, and include a list of any publications or
documents used by your departments that are in a language other than English. Please also
indicate if you ever use the services of a translator (staff member or contractor).
Forward this information to me by noon on Tuesday, January 16"'. Thank you for your assistance in
this matter.
John
John Day
CountyManager
CabarrusCounty
PO Box 707
Concord, NC28026-0707
Phone: 704-920-2895
Fax: 704-920-2820
DISCLAIlVIER:
E-mail correspondence to and from this address may be subject to the North Carolina Public
Records Law and may be disclosed to third parties.
1116!2007 ~/
C~-7
