CABARRUSCOUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS Excellence in education is recognized by the Board as an important foundation to <br />Cabarrus County's future economic stability, and; <br />WHEREAS Gideon Whaley, aneighth-grade student at C.C. Griffin Middle School, won the <br />Charlotte Observer Regional Spelling Bee and advanced to the Scripps National Spelling Bee, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS Gideon Whaley is the first Cabarrus County student to represent our region in the <br />Scripps National Spelling Bee, and; <br />WHEREAS Gideon Whaley advanced to the semifinals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee; <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners does hereby recognize <br />Champion Speller Gideon Whaley and asks the residents of Cabarrus County to join us in <br />commending him for a job well done. <br />This the 23`d day of July, 2007. <br />Robert W.
