Flowe Trust) <br />On March 21, 2007, Mr: Sam Davis, Attorney for Wachovia Bank as Trustee under the <br />will of W.W. Flowe, announced to Cabarrus County their intentions to make a gift of <br />approximately sixty acres of land to be used for parks and recreation purposes. This <br />donated land is located along Central Heights Drive across from W.W. Flowe Park. Mr. <br />Davis also informed us'that Mrs. Mary Lore Flowe Brown (Mrs. Harry Brown) died on <br />March 14, 2007. Janice Beatty, Senior Trust Advisor, Wachovia Bank, N.A., Donna <br />Smith, Real Estate Advisor, Wachovia Bank, N.A. and Sam Davis, attorney for the <br />Trust, are working on this current proposal/gift. <br />In August, 1995, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Brown donated sixty-five acres to Cabarrus County to <br />be used for Parks and Recreation purposes. The land was owned by W.W. Flowe, the <br />father of Mrs. Brown, and the Brown family requested that the park be named in his <br />memory. Mr. Flowe was a textile manufacturer, who was prominent in Cabarrus <br />County's industrial development. In 2002, Phase I forty acres was opened to the public <br />as W. W. Flowe Park. <br />On the behalf of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department and the <br />citizens of Cabarrus County, we would like to express our deep appreciation to the W. <br />W. Flowe family and Mrs. Harry Brown for their generosity and public spiritedness. This <br />donated land will provid¢ opportunities for many generations to come. <br />Enclosed is the proposed special warranty deed for this transfer.
