CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 7/23/07 Agenda Item # G -y <br />SUBJECT: <br />Discussion of Detention Center Design and Construction <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Concord Planning Board and the Concord City Council both determined that the <br />design of the new county detention center was appropriate for its location and a <br />conditional-use permit was approved. A challenge to the approval of the permit mounted <br />by some downtown residents failed in Superior Court.
