SITE EVALUATION
Department stall assigned to the couahouse would be unable to share facilities with the regular Sheriffs Department or jail staff,
requiring additional program space in [he proprxied cour[s master plan.
Trar»portation of inmates to the'coutthouse could ocn¢ in smaller groups, a[ more frequent intervals, than would be possible at a more
remote site; bur, again, a dedicated transpixr and securi[y staff contingent would be required. Direct access [o the existing courthouse,
such as dvongh an underground tunnel, would not 6e practical from [his site because of the intervening buildings.
As indicated in Pigure 4, the projec[ed ?30,000 square foot space needs for law enforcement and the jail could he accommodated in a
six-sorry building. This would, agaio, leave an unacceptably small area for vehicle access to service and intake and for staff parking. Jail
intake and service needs and some staff parking could be accommodated, bur the Counry would still need [o a<yuire additional property
eo accommodate die fidl staff parking need, either across Spring Street, Barbrick Avenue, or Cnrban Avenue.
April?fN14 10
G-H
W6.1
