July 17, 2007 <br />To: John Day, Cabarrus County Manager <br />Mike Downs, Cabarrus County Deputy Manager <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />From: Londa Strong, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br />Subject: Budget Amendment Request to Provide Bleachers/Scoreboards for two <br />Gymnasiums at Furr and Boger Elementary Schools. <br />In 2006, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approved funds to install wood <br />flooring and enlarge the gymnasiums at Charles E. Boger and Carl A. Furr Elementary <br />Schools. To enable the community use, the gymnasiums need spectator bleachers, <br />player benches, and scoreboards. The total request to complete these two community <br />projects is approximately $17,000.00 <br />• 6 sets of 3 row,21' bleachers $8,688.00 <br />• 4 15' player benches 1,992.00 <br />• 2 basketball scoreboards 6,190.00 <br />Contingency 130.00 <br />Total $17,000.00 <br />The recommended budget amendment is to transfer the funds from the uncommitted <br />proceeds from the General Obligation Bond Fund for the two elementary school <br />projects. <br />Thank you for assistance and cooperation on these matters.
