2. FACTORS CONSIDERED IN GRANTING CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS FOR TOWERS. In
determining whether to issue a conditional use permit, the Board of Adjustments shall consider, in addition
to any other standards in this Ordinance governing conditional use permits, the following factors:
6. The applicant demonstrates that there are other limiting factors that render existing towers and structures
unsuitable.
A. Height of the proposed tower;
B. Proximity of the tower to residential structures and residentially zoned district boundaries;
C. Nature of uses on adjacent and nearby properties;
D. Surrounding topography;
E. Surrounding tree coverage and vegetation;
F. Design of the tower, with particulaz reference to design chazacteristics that eli ii
visual obtrusiveness;
H. Availability of suitable existing towers, other structui
requiring the use of towers or structures, as discussed in
Section VIII. AVAILABILITY OF SUITABLE EXIST
ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY. No new tower shall
to the reasonable satisfaction of the Administrator, or Boar
required), that no existing tower, structure or alternative tee
or structures, can accommodate the applicant's prop
demonstrate that no existing tower, structure or alte ve
proposed tower or antenna may consist of anyll
1. No existing towers or structures are
engineering requirements.
TOWERS, OTHER STRUCTURES, OR
fitted unless the applicant demonstrates
A ent (if conditional use permit is
fo at does not require the use of towers
tenna. Evidence submitted to
rology can accommodate the applicant's
geographic azea which meet applicant's
height to meet applicant's engineering requirements.
3. Existing towers or
antenna and related e
sufficient structural strength to support applicant's proposed
nna mould cause electromagnetic interference with the antenna on the
the antenna on the existing towers or structures would cause interference
o~contractual provisions required by the owner in order to shaze an existing tower or
pt an existing tower or stmcture for shazing are unreasonable. Costs required by the
tower or structure that exceed new tower development aze presumed to be unreasonable.
7. The applicant demonstrates that alternative technologies, such as a cable microcell network using
multiple low-powered transmitters/receivers attached to a wireline system, that does not require the use of
towers or structures, aze unsuitable. Costs of alternative technology that exceed new tower or antenna
development shall not be presumed to render the technology unsuitable.
8. SEPARATION. Towers shall be separated a distance, as measured from the base, equal to at least the
minimum standards established in Table 2 from any preexisting towers. The separation distances shall be
l1~
