The <br />following guidelines cover some ofthe more important areas ofethical conduct related [o conflictof <br />interest or apparent conflict of interest: <br />• Employees and consultants shall not use their official affiliation with the agency to secure <br />preferential treatment regarding application for or reception of agency services. <br />• Employees shall accept no gift, favor, or service from other service providers or <br />organizations for the referral of clients; nor shall employees extend such gifts, favors, or <br />services to other agencies for referrals. Additionally, employees shall neither accept nor <br />extend a gift to their supervisor unless it is of nominal value. <br />• When private practice has been approved by the Presidettt/CEO as secondary employment, <br />the names of employees engaged in private practice may be included on a list of referrals <br />provided to clients or others. No refenels will be made exclusively to employees engaged in <br />private practice or consultation. Similarly, an employee shell not make a referral to himself <br />or herself. <br />• When a former employee engages in private practice or business, the name of the former <br />employee may be included on a list of referrals provided to clients or others. No referrals <br />will be made exclusively to former employees engaged in a private practice or other business <br />enterprise. <br />• Employees and consultants shall hold no direct or indirect financial interests in the assets, <br />leases, business transactions, or professional services of this agency. <br />• Employees shall neither release confidential information without the appropriate <br />authorization, nor use confidential information regarding clients or other employees for their <br />personal gain or benefit. <br />In addition, the agency prohibits certain other acts of conduct which include, but are not limited to <br />the following: <br />~" ~ I <br />
