Elementary School on Grace Development Site - We would anticipate this new school drawing
students from the lower part of the current Rocky River Elementary attendance boundary. This
would. free up space so we could reassign students on the south side of US Highway 601 from A. T.
Allen to Rocky River. We also would consider moving some students from Bethel to this new
school if we need to address capacity issues at that school.
Middle School south of Harrisburg - We would anticipate this boundary mirroring that of
Hickory Ridge. A large number of C. C. Griffin middle school students presently reside in this area.
According to the November Subdivision Lot Inventory, we can expect approximately 2350 middle
school students generated from already approved lots in the current C. C. Griffm District. If the
capacity of this new school is 1200 it will basically bring us back to status quo on the number of seats
needed for this part of the county. This school is on the Critical Projects List for 2008 but is not
likely to be completed by that date. C. C. Griffin has already exceeded its core capacity of 1161 by
277 students. This will only get worse until this new middle school is up and operational.
Elementary School south of Harrisburg -This school is projected to be needed by 2009 but is
not listed in the top five projects of the Critical Projects List. According to the November
Subdivision Lot Inventory, we will need this school based on the number of currently approved lots
in the Harrisburg, Rocky River, Bethel and Pitts School elementary areas. We would anticipate at
build-out, with the two new elementary schools (700 capacity each) in this report, a shortage of
approximately 400 seats in this part of the county. If the Epic Project, west of Harrisburg, is
approved, we would need even more relief at Pitts Elementary School as well as Harrisburg.
Boundaries have not been created nor approved. by the Board of Education at this time fox the above
mentioned projects. Therefore, it is very difficult to deternilne accurate figures fox each individual
school that will be impacted by the mentioned projects. The figures mentioned were derived by
using the November Subdivision Lot Inventory and deter.oining the impact on the elementary,
middle, and high school by each approved project.
Cabaxrus County Schools operating at 110% capacity axe considered to be operating at maximum
capacity.
The Subdivision Lot Inventory spreadsheet has been updated through December of 2007.
2
N `tD
