<br />AMENDMENT No. 20 TO THE AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />OWNER AND ENGINEER <br />FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY SOLID WASTE PROGRAM <br /> <br />FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF BASIC SERVICES, DUTIES OF OWNER, <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT, AND RELATED SERVICES <br /> <br />This AMENDMENT to THE AGREEMENT made as of February 15 , 2006 is hereby included as <br />an addition to and incorporated as part of the AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />made on February 4,1991, between Cabarrus County, North Carolina (OWNER or COUNTY) <br />AND Camp Dresser & McKee (ENGINEER or CDM) for professional services. <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE C&D LANDFILL EXPANSION PROJECT AT <br />THE CABARRUS COUNTY SOLID WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT FACILITY <br /> <br />The purpose of this amendment is to provide Cabarrus County with the needed engineering <br />services for construction and permitting of the new C&D landfill expansion area for disposal <br />activities. The proposed C&D facility is located within the property boundary of the existing <br />solid waste management facility located on Irish Potato Road outside of Concord, North <br />Carolina. <br /> <br />1. The Basic Services of ENGINEER as described in Section 2 of said Agreement are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />This Amendment pertains to the construction of the new C&D landfill expansion at the <br />Cabarrus County Solid Waste Management Facility. The following sequence is recommended <br />for construction of the new C&D Landfill expansion. Please note that construction will be <br />divided into two phases. Phase I is to include the C&D expansion area west of the existing <br />access road, whereas Phase II will include the area east of the access road. The existing access <br />road shall be maintained and used by the Contractor during construction. The same access road <br />is to be used by Cabarrus County after Phase I construction is completed for C&D waste <br />disposal. While Phase I is accepting waste, Cabarrus County will complete Phase II. <br /> <br />· Abandon Piezometers <br />· CDM Prepare Informal Bid Package, Review Bids and Select Contractor <br />· Contractor Subcontract to CDM. CDM Submit Amendment to Include Contractor Costs <br />and CQA Testing <br />· Contractor Provide Survey and Install Erosion Control Measures, Including Drainage <br />Ditches <br />· County Clear Site <br /> <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br />I=-g <br />
