Full Time Nurse Practitioner
o NEMC will provide Cabarrus County with an experienced Nurse
Practitioner who is certified in the area of occupational medicine. This
individual will have completed a formal Family Nurse Practitioner Training
Program meaning they have the ability to treat children and adults. The
Nurse Practitioner will be an employee ofNEMC and will be approved to
practice in the state of North Carolina as well as be credentialed as part of
the medical staff at NEMC. It is the intent of NEMC to recruit and hire a
Nurse Practitioner that is mutually agreed upon by both parties to ensure
success. It will be the responsibility of NEMC to continually educate this
individual on clinical updates and maintain needed credentials (i.e. basic
life saving, OSHA standards, etc.). NEMC will arrange for coverage for
vacations, continuing education, and illnesses.

Full Time Medical Assistant
o NEMC will provide Cabarrus County with a medical assistant that will
assist the Nurse Practitioner with both clinical and clerical functions. This
trained / certified individual will enhance the services provided by NEMC
by capturing all needed information and assisting employees with all
aspects of the service.

Should patient volumes increase to a level that would warrant additional
staffing, Cabarrus County and NEMC will work together and discuss
implementation. Based on the number of additional staff (and their percentage
of a full time equivalent employee), the staffing costs, as outlined in Exhibit B,
will be adjusted accordingly. To determine staffing needs, NEMC will provide
Cabarrus County with benchmark data showing patient to provider ratios,
encounter levels per provider, etc.

3

F22-
