<br />Meeting Date <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # G~ /2. <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Three Year Update to Cabarrus County's Solid Waste Management Plan <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Ten Year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, which is required to be <br />updated every three years, includes not only Cabarrus County but also Mt. Pleasant, <br />Harrisburg, Kannapolis and Midland. This plan was prepared in accordance with N.C. <br />General Statute 130A-309.09A (b) for the purpose of meeting local solid waste needs and <br />protecting public health and the environment. A Public meeting was held on May 25 for <br />discussion and/or input into the plan. All the participating entities have provided input <br />which was incorporated into the plan draft which is attached for your review. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion "the Board approves the agenda Item as presented) <br /> <br />Approval of the "Resolution Accepting and Endorsing the Solid Waste Management Plan <br />of 2006 for Cabarrus County".
